Big thanks to Maggie who sent this update on Alfie, who sadly passed away recently, but had a very active life bringing joy and happiness to many people.
Good hunting Alfie ❤️
As promised, here are a couple of photos of Alfie.
He loved to sleep with his paws over his eyes and I’ve attached one of those.
The other is him looking very handsome in the hall.
We adopted Alfie September 2011. He had been found with a large tumour which meant he couldn’t eat or drink and it was touch and go whether he would survive.
After much TLC from the vets and team at Katz Castle, he recovered well.
He was very keen to have a home of his own and he fell into a routine immediately when we brought him home.
He got on very well with our two resident cats and they regularly used to play in the hall before bed time.
Alfie loved his food and would regularly jump up to snatch some from the pot as I weighed out his next day’s allowance.
He was a very friendly cat and was a visiting cat for Pets As Therapy.
Over the years he was loved by many residents of local care and dementia homes.
He also accompanied me to various talks for local schools and branches of the WI.
He helped raise more than £1,000.
Unfortunately he fell ill at the end of August 2017 and was put to sleep on the 25th.
A legend in his lifetime.
Best regards, Maggie
